A Barbecue Version
Asian Fusion Style
In this Fusion version, you can prepare fresh Shiitake Mushrooms for the barbecue. It’s quick and the flavor is good. This quantity might feed four persons, depending on what else is being grilled. The Olive Oil helps to make this preparation a bit Fusion, as that Fat has until very recently not been used by Asian cooks, at least in making Asian dishesGrilled Shiitake Mushrooms
0 large fresh Shiitake Mushrooms
¼ cup Olive Oil
3 cloves Garlic
Salt to taste
Freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
First get a barbecue grill ready, especially if you are using charcoal.
Remove the Mushroom stems and et side for another use. Rinse the Mushroom caps thoroughly and dry on paper nd set aside.
Mince the Garlic and set aside.
Combine the Olive Oil and Garlic and set aside.
When ready to cook, for example, when the coals have burned down, grill the Mushrooms for about two minutes on each side or until thoroughly cooked. Be careful not to burn them.
Brush the Mushroom caps with the Olive Oil-Garlic mixture, sprinkle on Salt and Pepper and serve immediately.
