Good with Fish
While you can naturally mix Wasabi with prepare Mayonnaise for an excellent sauce that will enhance dishes like white-meat Fish, you can also make ii from scratch for a more delicate flavor. For the full flavor, use this sauce within about two hours of making it.
This might get served with dishes like Japanese Style Potato Salad or other Vegetables, Seafood, Poultry, Beef, Veal and Lamb, especially cold Meats and Vegetables.
Wasabi Mayonnaise / わさび マヨネーズ
1 extra-large Egg Yolk, at room temperature
1½ teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Rice Vinegar
1 tablespoon Wasabi Powdeer
½ cup Vegetable Oil, preferably Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Lime Juice or Lemon Juice
In a clean dry bwl, combine the Egg Yolk, Salt, Rice Viengar and Wasabi Powder. Whisk together until well well combined.. Keep on adding the Oil a little at a time and beating continously until a thick sauce is produced.
Finally whip in the Lime or Lemon juice to thin the sauce to the desired consistency. Cover and let rest for about ten minutes before serving.
